Old Friends
I went out to Sam’s Club tonight to get some food and some other stuff. I ran into an old buddy of mine from college while I was walking into the store. I haven’t seen him in over a year, and I found out that he is still going to Eau Claire. He’s graduating next year. It was good to see him.
I feel strange about the war. It seems so unnatural to me to be able to flip on the television and see it happening in real-time. It doesn’t seem right… to me, it seems as though it’s just another violent TV show. The reality of war is that it’s violent and unpleasant, and not meant to entertain the public. I feel that the media is exploiting the war for the sake of ratings, which is dangerous. They are putting journalists on the battlefield, in much more dangerous situations than they’ve ever been in before, just so people can see it 24 hours a day.
