Peace

Reading time: 1 minutes.

My mom passed away this morning at around 12:30 am after a long battle with cancer.

The last few days have been very hard on her and she has finally found peace.

She waited for me.

We were here for the last few days and she actually seemed to get better. Carissa was getting sick with a cold and I made the decision to take my family home.

We got a call at 11:00 pm saying that it was time so we packed everyone up and went back to New Auburn. I put Ana to sleep upstairs and then we went into Mom’s bedroom. She was laying there in my dad’s arms very peaceful with her eyes open for the first time in quite a while.

She went so peacefully and quietly that we didn’t even notice.

As for me, I’m sad that my mom won’t be answering the phone anymore when I call or worry silently about me drinking booze. But I am happy that she never has to suffer again.

Thanks to everyone for your support.
