Moving on From Temporal
Today is my last day at Temporal Technologies. It’s been an incredible time. I’ve been challenged like never before and met so many great people there.
Since March 2022, I’ve led Developer Education at Temporal. I’ve had the privilege to work with some of the best educators, writers, and teachers in the world in an organization with some of the brightest engineers I’ve ever met. I had an organization behind me that believed that educating developers would be key to the company’s growth.
There were no courses and only a couple of tutorials when I started. It took people a long time to get their minds around the platform. I know because I had to do it myself, and so did the people who joined my team.
Today, Temporal has six hands-on courses available in four programming languages, and new developers and customers can get up to speed in days instead of months. Temporal now has tutorials that help developers build their first proof of concept in a fraction of the time. They also have great documentation that huge companies use daily to build the next generation of apps on Temporal.
I want to thank Maxim Fateev and Samar Abbas for creating Temporal and building a company around it. It’s game-changing tech. Even though I’m moving on, I’ll continue to advocate for and use Temporal in the future. It’s just that good. And I’m grateful to Charles Zedlewski, who reached out over three years ago to tell me about the opportunities there and convinced me to join.
As for me, it’s time for a break. I’ve got a new thing lined up in January, and I’ll tell you more then.
But for now, if you are a developer who needs to build apps that can’t fail, you should spend some time with Temporal to see how you can use it in your next project. You won’t be disappointed.
