Here’s some useful M.A.M.E. links. M.A.M.E is an arcade emulator capable of playing images from arcade machines. The legality of all of this is pretty sketchy, but I’m not posting anything that you can’t find with a simple Google search anyway. Besides, I’m not posting any links to any games.

Catching Up

It’s been a little while since I’ve written, and there’s been a lot going on.
Mom’s doing some more aggressive therapy now. She spent the last four days in the hospital for some in-patient chemotherapy. She’s home now, but she will be going back to the hospital in a few weeks for more chemo, and then to Marshfield for a bone-marrow transplant. The hope is that after the transplant, she’ll go into remission.
Table Hockey game… so fun. So addictive.
Dead Laptop
Published August 16, 2004
So here I am, watching a flick, when my laptop freezes up. I figured that it was no big deal. My laptop has a tendancy to freeze up every so often, so I’ve gotten used to it. However, this time, no matter how long I held the power button down, I couldn’t make it shut off. So I unplugged the laptop and ejected the battery, as the instruction manual says to do in such a situation.
The reason for the lack of updates on my blog is quite simple-vacation!
I took my week summer vacation to spend some time with my wife. We celebrated our second anniversary this last Tuesday by going to the restaurant we met at.
I also spent the week recovering from a neck and shoulder injury which occurred last weekend after karate. I was finished with the workout and was turning around to grab something and all of a sudden, I couldn’t move.
Passengers on a small commuter plane are waiting for the flight to leave.
The entrance opens, and two men walk up the aisle, dressed in pilots’ uniforms–both are wearing dark glasses, one is using a seeing-eye dog, and the other is tapping his way up the aisle with a cane.
Nervous laughter spreads through the cabin; but the men enter the cockpit, the door closes, and the engines start up.
This was posted on Fark, but I am putting it up on here anyway. This is the best Flash game I’ve seen ever.

This place is pretty cool. It’s funny how we all sit around now and try to remember where things like walls and doors used to be. Everything has changed. The students have a respectable area to work, I have my own office with more storage cabinets than I can fill, and the move couldn’t have been smoother. If I can get the digital camera’s batteries charged before everyone leaves today, I’ll get some pictures.
Moving Home

We are getting ready to move back to the old building. We’ve been up in the Library for over six months, and during that time, our old area has been completely rebuilt. When I go down there, I am just in awe of what they have done. I will have my own office, all to myself. I won’t have to share with students or other coworkers. I’ve been waiting quite a long time for this and am more eager than ever to get out of this place we’re currently in.
Rumor has it that my favorite whiskey, The Revelstoke, is being discontinued. There’s no mention of it on the Phillips website, but I left them a message to see if I can get some confirmation. A few of us are planning to organize some sort of grass-roots campaign to bring it back. Apparently in 2001-2002, it outsold Crowne Royale, the top-selling whiskey, 6000 cases to 2900 cases. So people were drinking it….
